New Project Starting

My welding teacher just approved of me to build a "High pressure cylinder"
aka a hybrid chamber
Heres what I have in mind
3000 psi 3/4" steel union, 2" sch-80/120 steel chamber, all welded steel fittings.
I plan on using propane/oxy, or map/oxy, air/propane 8+mixees, and some testing with acetylene.
I am just waiting for a price list to come in on the materials, and if the budget is reasonable I plan on takng on this project.
This topic is to serve as a build log/suggestion, question area.

Yes indeed.
and good news the total cost of the project was just cut in half.
all I need to buy is the pipe and a union and some pieces of scrap steel.

Honestly, if I were you I would also get a 1.5 or 2" union.
The wall-destroying power of large bore hybrids is something you won't soon forget. It'll probably be a lot more fun than just sending marbles through plywood too.

I don't think anyone here will be breaking even Mach 3 anytime soon (depending on how long it takes Killjoy to make his 11x O2/H2 hybrid), but this could be an interesting project. If I was able to order from McMaster, I'd probably build something like this too.
I agree that a large bore hybrid would be loads more fun than a small one, I'll probably make a 2" calibre at some point, but with all my ongoing projects, I won't be starting any new ones in the near future.
Frankrede: I wish you luck with building this, and hope it turns out well.

I already have a large hybrid, and I am looking for performance with godly highpressures.

The parts are being ordered and all the fittings will be made using 1/4" plate steel for bushings and my plug, with the only threads on the spark plug and fuel injection.
This cannon shouldn't cost more than....20$ minus the ignition.
