actually, i don't think i'll need two spark gaps, i'll probably just use one, and then i would what ground the other wire to the CO2 chamber? do you guys think i need two- i don't think so, it's such a small chamber

Pretty good design, except I'll give you a couple of pointers.

I have no idea whether co2 tanks are aluminum or steel, but it doesn't matter. They can hold 3000 psi, so it's no problem.

Putting a 1/2" nipple and ball valve into the chamber is going to be very annoying. I'd suggest using 1/4" or 3/8", because you don't need to buy as big of a tap, tap a bigger hole, drill a bigger hole, get the right drill bit for a bigger hole, and all at the same time, be very careful tapping the hole itself. A hybrid is not something you want to mess up on.

One spark gap is fine, and a schrader valve spark plug is very easy to make, and is also NPT threaded. I'd advise (using SpudBlaster's advice) putting the spark gap about 2/5s of the way from the back of the gun.

About 99% of CO2 tanks in paintball are steel. Iver never seen a aluminium one. The only different ones are HPA tanks, which are fiber wrapped and made from composites. A 20oz co2 tanks will run about $18-$25 (at least in the US), but the hpa tanks are $150-300 for a fiber/composite one, and there are steel verisons of hpa tanks too running about $60 for a 48ci/3000 tank.

there i no problem to find out if it is steel or alu. just take a angel grinder (or something that makse sparks) and grind a bit where you are going to drill a hole if you get sparks its steel and if not its alu!
