Would it be safe to use smaller diameter sch40 pvc because its rated at a higher pressure

Just becasue it is sch40 doesn't mean it is rated for pressure. It should say nsf-pw, but it all depends on if its for a barrel, chamber, or just parts.

yeah ^^ chamber or barrel?

i would guess chamber if so, then yeah why not, just make your mix so that it doesnt surpass the rating on ur pvc.

i wouldn't use pvc on a hybrid period, regardless of thickness or pressure rating. i just don't believe that plastic can handle the pressure. i think it should be made of some sort of metal.

How about 2" inside diameter 12" outside
hi, I guarantee that it would hold anything you throw at it.

sure, just tell me where to get it and ill test it... i was talking about sch40, as noted in original post. i just dont think any standard sch40 pvc can hold the pressure.

I doubt it could take a "little" flash powder.

2" and below sch 40 pressure rated PVC is fine for barrels in my opinion, but only up to a 5x mix (which is a s high as I have tested 2" and 1" pvc pipe), otherwise your risking the barrel bursting. As a cahmber I would say just pay the dough and get a metal chamber.

PVC does not melt into a liquid, it more burns from my experience. but solid PVC ammo would be pretty cool. or mabey solid PVC endcaps. mabey melted PVC is my new epoxy..........

If it burns before melting, remove the oxygen!
Melt it in a vacuum or in a space filled with CO2, N2 or He or any other nonreactive gas.
