how the hybrid works!

Harness the power of precision mixtures of pressurized flammable vapor. Safety first! These are advanced potato guns - not for the beginner.

i have seen many posts of people that docent know how a hybrid works. so i are going to tell what i know (if i am wrong at somethig correct me)

a hybrid cannon is a (advanced combustion) that has a propanemeter witch is calibrated at about 4 percentage of chamber volume. then for a 2x mix witch is two injections from the fuel meter and then you got 8 or 9% of fuel in the chamber witch is a weary ritch mix. you will then pump in 14.7 psi of air pressure in the chamber so now there is the same as if there has been 4% in the chamber because the air pressure take more oxygen in to the ritch mix so it is then a perfect 4% of the air that is fuel.

the air is hold back by a burst disk witch is aluminium foil or pet from a bottle (or something like that) witch is clamped in a union until the gasses is ignited. when it ignites it creates a mutch higher pressure and temp than a 1x mix in a combustion (around 300 to 400psi is normal) when the burst disk burst it lets bouth the compressed air and the expanding propane gasses out at once and thats what happens in a hybrid cannon.

you would also don't get a ddt in the chamber it can blow up a well made hybrid of steel. ddt like i have understood it is when you ignite a hybrid mixture at the back of a long thin chamber. the expanding gases compresses the mix longer ahead in the chamber so if it was a 5x mix it could be equal to a mutch higer mix and then all that gasses and air detonates and blow the gun up (and mabe you)

yes the piston hybrid: i dosent have a interest of that type but i have looked at some digrams of the piston valve. from what i have seen a way to open the pistion is by have a tee and a piston. the barrel would pass trough to behind the bottom hole of the tee fitting so when the mixture is ignited the gases push the piston back in the tee. then the spring behind it closes it again. i am telling you this of my thoughts i dosent know for sure!

heres what Galfisk said about it:
You can build a variation of the DFTV (http://antennalaunchers.com/dftv19/) that opens when the chamber pressure rises. My copper hybrid uses this, it has been dry-fired successfully a few times but I haven't had time to finish it completely (it can also be used as a pneumatic and there the valve performs flawlessly as well).
This is the first concept drawing, the design has changed a good bit but the valve is essentially the same: diagram

dont complain my crappy english!!

Basic and needs better spelling and grammar but yes, basically thats it. Now would you please explain about how a piston hybrid works?

As far as I understand, there are two ways to build a piston hybrid. In one the piston is actuated at the same moment of ignition by a solonoid. In the second the piston is actuated by the higher force of pressurised combustion in the chamber.

Right except for one thing, not all Hybrids have an ungodly mess of pipes, gauges and ball valves- commonly known as the "Propane Meter" hanging off them! :D
