Ignition Diagram?
So...i've been messing around with some "T" pins, a couple of wires, and a 9v battery. I've gotten some nice sparks but im in need of something with much more "bam" if you watch emril. Im using the schrader-spark plug ignition on my hybrid (to avoid tapping some holes and keeping the chamber as strong as possible) and I haven't been able to come up with a wiring diagram that suits my fancy.
Im going to Electronic City this weekend and have the entire store and $100 USD at my disposal. I believe that they carry transformers and everything. So, im somewhat in need of a wiring diagram. Also, i've heard of an "ignition coil"-could somebody explain?

My new gf is anti-everything or a "tree hugger" as i call them and doesn't like spudin, wat do i do?

why not just pick up a 5$ grill igniter?

umm, the grill igniter won't esplode at higher mixes, and i didn't really want to deal with spark gaps...thus the spark plug+wired, conductive chamber idea, thx though. Also, i ihave money to burn so i might as well invest in a quality igniter.
Meh, she won't go near the many guns i have, in fact she made me put one away when she came over...i was just about to finish machining the piston to the gun and shes like...get that outa my sight, wth right?

Yea a grill igniter should work, or a camera flash ignition. There's plans for those in the wiki I believe. As for your girlfriend, i don't know why she wouldn't like your hobby. It's not like you're killing small animals or anything right? Tell her you're feeding the less fortunate animals.

If you wanna go the ignition coil route, basically all you have to do is dump a capacitor into an ignition coil from a car. Its simple, cheap, and works pretty damn good. The wiki has good info on it, this topic has some good stuff to http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/101-way ... 12533.html (sorry still don't get the topic title link thing). I got a diagram somewhere I'll try and find for both the circuit and the plug.
And I think the hundred dollars would be over kill, I spent 15 bucks and made 2 ignition set ups for my hybrids no problem.
And how may I ask did you get a "tree hugger"? I mean opposites attract but thats like way the f*ck over on the other side of the scale, thats like me dating a gun control advocate. Guess you'll just have to hide you stuff when she comes over, thats what I gotta do when almost any girl I know comes over (except for this one, but she kinda scares me when shes around my stuff)...well Sh*t, I wish you luck man

i believe in quality>quantity. Example: I buy a bbq lighter and have to replace it in anywhere from 1 minute to 3 years. I buy parts, a bit more $, for a quality spark plug ignition and alll i have to change is the batteries. @ a camera flash ignition: i've heard people have problems with discharging the capacitator (am i right?)
Could anyone explain what an ignition coil is?
My guess: It's somewhat like a lightning generator (lol-like the one in prestige) where you put a small voltage current through one end and the coiling increases the current so that when it gets to the top, it's wicked high voltage?
GF: I still have to work on the whole "red meat" thing, she won't let me go to in-n-out when shes with me haha

I've actually heard the trick to breaking a vegetarian is to slip inconspicuous amounts of meat into random dishes, and slowly up the amount until it's easily noticeable. At that point, they'll either break, or they're hopeless.

Sometimes the camera flash can be iffy, but this hobby in general is pretty iffy.
And an ignition coil doesn't exactly work like a transformer like your describing. Basically when a current is applied a magnetic field is created, and when that current is removed, the field collapses and induces a current in the secondary coil which is generally many KV.
Damn no im-n-out, thats hard. Hopefully she'll come to ignore the killing of the cow for meat though, or at least come to like some "meat" for your sake.

Nice. And that monkey randomly reminds me of some tea I found on the internet the other day. it's like 27 dollars a bag. It's handpicked.
...
Handpicked by monkeys.
EDIT: 25 bucks for a bag that makes about 30 cups.

Ok..back on topic please
Could anyone explain an ignition coil
EDIT: About the tea
thats about 83 cents per cup
If you compare that to the...4-5 bucks of starbucks coffee, thats absolutely nothing

thx for link...that basically answered my question
but...one more:
in the autotransformer + induction coil = ignition combo
do you guys think i could substitute a regular transformer from a monitor or old computer instead of the autotransformer? im too lazy to read all that lol

Or you could just use a car battery.
