once more, burst disk holders!

please do me a favor and read the whole topic!
i am back into spudding now, i will start off by making my half done hybrid fully done and operateable.
some of you remember my "ghetto union" well i would give thousands to a guy with an angle grinder to terminate it!! it made more problems then anything else. gaskets melted, ALU melted and got stuck in the meter and so on.
now my only idea is to dump the hope to get more then two shots on a whole day and make a flange.
but it deserves something better i think, something that i can't afford when spudding is not at the top anymore, so i need something simple and cheap.
i would like diagrams to be included in replies (no need to make them complicated!)
i have accses to a milling shop but i would not like that option since it is impractical. something i can make out of stuff i have on hand (you know what i steel hooked spudder have, don't you?) i can make just about anything that can be made from what i have but not before i have the idea how it should look.

Perhaps a list of design specifications?
Max expected temperature and pressure?
Charge pressure that must be sealed?
Diameter of the piping and of the burst disk itself?
Disk thickness to be accommodated?

His homemade burst disk holder failed. He is angry and looking for another option besides a flange. That is his question/problem.
Wasn't this for that 10x mix hybrid with quite an high diameter barrel?

barrel: 50mm OD 42mm ID
temperature: whatever 10x propane generates.
pressure: atleast 100bar at peak pressure.
pre-ign pressure: 10.45bar.
disk: 120layer aluminiumfoil.
is that enough?
i have a problem with overwriting my posts and questions to, that way i won't be looked at as a post whore.

Aside: And by the time you're up to 120 layers of aluminum foil, don't you think you might want to look at something else?

Unscrewing and rescrewing like 10 bolts every shot.
I know this is nothing compared to reloading light gas guns or a pipe dream, but most of the spudders want to be able to fire a shot within a minute (and that is already slow)

I highly agree on that. For fast operation you should step away from burst disks.

If you have access to a milling shop, why is that option not practical?...because in reality, if you don't want to use a union or camlocks or a flange disk setup, you are by definition designing and building your own.
To fire 10x out of a 2" disk/barrel, you're going to need something pretty special. Why not just commit to machining the parts you need and be done with it?

Just what sort of flange in the 2" class are you dealing with? Most (read: every one I've ever seen but I'll grant that my knowledge isn't archival) in that class will have 4 bolts. Tack weld the nuts on the backing plate, grab an air ratchet (hey, you already have a compressor), and it shouldn't take more than a minute to reload.

I would. But spudfarm wouldnt.
In an other topic he stated that the slow reloading between shots could make him quit spudding again.
In that case I say: piston valve.
If still going for burst disks I say: machine your own union-like thingy.

sgort seems to have pretty much got it right with his quick loading punctured burst disk pneumatic, here

Otherwise, I think really what you want is a small bore pneumatic. Make it handheld and fairly quick to fill, and you'll soon rekindle your love for spudding!

thanks buddies! i forgot about this topic in all the stuff i have to do those days.
i have decided that a flange might be the best option since that is something that CAN'T fail. and i will use 6 screws (no holes but machined grooves that i just drop the bolts into and screw them down) on 10mm (thickness) then i will have 2" threads inside the flange so i can easily replace it with something else when my wallet and my machining skills go up.
i might also make some disks out of aluminium plates since those are easier to handle.
well, thread is open for discussion.
BTW, i will PROBABLY make the flange next friday and fire off a shot the weekend after, but really, i am out of the spudding sone now. so what would you shoot?
the goal is to chrony a 10x golfball so it can't be anything so hard that the ball bounces back into the wall like my dart did.

Why not just buy a 4-bolt flange? It's not like they're expensive.
