Hybrid Questions?

Hello everyone, i'm in the process of designing a hybrid cannon. And I have a couple questions about them.

First is using a 1.5" SCH.40 Steel Pipe that is 12" Long too long for a chamber? like would ddt happen?

also would i be able to take it up to an 8X Mix Safely? I read the wiki and it said that a 2" steel pipe could safely handle up 2 11X.

And last off when i'm using hggdt program it comes up with an answer that says "Combustion Incomplete" what does this mean but then it says underneath of it " No Errors".

Any Help Would Be Greatly Apprecited. :D

1 1/2" pipe is too small for a cannon combustion chamber. If you are after a bb gun then you may be on the right track.

If you want to shoot bb's and micro ammo, sure go for it.

I consider anything less than 1 1/2" diameter micro ammo :D I may have victimized you with my hatred of small ammo and tiny "cannons". I don't think anyone should call them cannons ever again. They are smooth bore gas plinkers, or SBGP's.

yeah i think the same way. :D casue when people build paintball air rifles and they call the cannons, which they really aren't. lol so how many mix do you think i could take a 1.5" By 12" long chamber up to safely?

So my hybrid with a 20mm barrel is a "smooth bore gas plinkers"? :D
Good that i made a GB barrel then. *^_^*

A 1.5" chamber is plenty for shooting anything up to golfballs.

Chuck a 1" union on there you you can shoot them about 250m/s with the right barrel and mix. With only a 3/4" union, i'm sending projectiles 3/4" in diameter and below past the speed of sound.

Your device is a freak of nature and lies outside of the realm of the ordinary. So every day comparisons do not apply here.

If we're being that petty, nothing you've ever put on this site is a cannon either.
Strictly, the cannon refers to a gunpowder powered, smoothbore, muzzle loaded gun that fires a 42 pound shot (and ONLY a 42 lb. shot).

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
Next time you feel like being funny by using your own unique definitions of terminology, don't.

In wikipedia a cannon falls under totally vague descriptions, so you are WRONG. You are also easily offended and become upset at the drop of a hat which I find petty,

Yes, because Wikipedia is the ultimate authority. I'm certain that if you read the article in full, you'd find no reference to what I say.

I'm also certain you can't find this text at the link I gave above: "Any large, smoothbore, muzzle-loading gun—used before the advent of breech-loading, rifled guns—may be referred to as a cannon, though the term specifically refers to a gun designed to fire a 42-pound (19 kg) shot"

Oh yes. I'm sure that spudkilla found your use of your as of yet unique definition of the word cannon highly entertaining, and not in the least a waste of his time.

By the way, I may be being slightly sarcastic.

I'm not sure what to tell my folks. They picked up some cannon balls from the US civil war. They have some in 2 sizes. Niether of which is 42 lb.

Acording to the manual the 42 lb round is one of several sizes.
