First hybrid.

I made a hybrid cartridge, and it worked the first time I tried it! Its simply 3/4" pvc with two screws on either side, an end cap with a schrader in it, and a coupling and a plastic bag burst disk. I have only tried it at 25 psi, simply because I didn't know how loud it would be (turned out to be pretty loud, just louder than a 357 maybe? Sounded like it...) and I will try at 50 psi next.
I compressed air to 25 psi in it, with a few seconds of butane from a lighter, and it worked. Its about 8 inchs long, and fires an airsoft bb buckshot.

If you want it to work consistently with any power you will want some form of metering system.

Dot use PVC either... You're probably generating about 200 psi doing that.

Its rated to 480 Gun freak, I could use my 600 psi half inch, but its too small for my liking.
Jor, it works consistently enough the way it is, I have shot it 5 times in a row now, and I am letting it cool off in between.

Still generally not used at that pressure... And you drilled in three holes which makes it weaker...

Well, its lasted, and the bag bursts literally the billionth of a second when the explosion happens...

5 whole times? Dang that's impressive consistency

Yeah. About 1 minute in between each firing because I had to reload it. I have an idea, a really stupid one, but a good one at the same time......
It may involve someone to help me recreate jacks combustion cartridge prototype, with shell ejection, but on a hybrid scale. I am no good at epoxy curing, so thats out of the question for me... For my love of airsoft, and things that go bang, I am sure you know what my idea is already....

Remember, many a spudder has gone mad chasing the cartridge dakka dakka. We've got one surviving, and he's addled his brain with epoxy
And don't use PVC please, it can handle the pressure, but the shock gets it. You can put a hammer on PVC, but whack it and you'll see what I mean.
Anyway, explaining how you've got PVC shards protruding everywhere won't go down well with one's parents, I know, I've been in a similar position.

I understand Zeus, but for what I have available, its all I have. I haven't shot it since when I last posted on this thread anyways, gonna wait for my dad to get home so I can try it again, but sleeved inside 1.25" pvc for some extra safety...

You can use pvc in testbed hybrids, just use safety glasses and don't stand close to it

I don't stand close, infact this thing was buried and the only thing above ground was the barrel so the gases could escape. It was pretty fun.

Glad you could get it working, you'll definitely need to sleeve it with dsome PVC and epoxy for extra strength
