New hybrid cannon

Harness the power of precision mixtures of pressurized flammable vapor. Safety first! These are advanced potato guns - not for the beginner.

I've used PVC as a barrel for a hybrid before with no issues other than the PVC getting burnt on the inside. In hindsight, I would use a metal pipe sleeved over the PVC for the first foot or so of barrel which is exposed to the highest pressures.
My ammo strategy is to build the the barrel to whatever ammo I plan on shooting. For the golf ball gun I'm working on right now, I'm just going to bring a golf ball to the scrap yard and see if they have a metal pipe that fits golf balls well. Then it's just a matter of attaching the pipe to the union.

Sch10 aluminum or stainless 1.5in piping works great for the golf balls. Given that youre going to be attaching it to a union - I'd go the stainless route as you can weld or thread it

Well i got some filming done. Only was able to test it at 3x mix cuz my steel Union isn't modified yet. I did get a beefed up 400psi pvc union that i wrapped up in tape just in case.

So guys i went out last night to introuduce a golfball to an old street sign and this is what happened!!!! Only 3x mix but my barrel was an old pvc barrel that was a 1.5 slit down the middle and heated to fit a golfball then sleeved with a 2" piece. It didn't stand a chance. I did get it on film but it's very dark. It's on YouTube.

Hopefully no one was injured in the rupture. I hate to say it, but that's PVC for you. Time to get some metal!

actually it happened so fast I did not know what to think. I shot it handheld and I'm so lucky I didn't lose an eye or something. I have no idea what happened to the golf ball either I couldn't find it. unfortunately I was standing right next to my girlfriends mothers Cadillac SRX and left a few nasty marks.

Well at normal combustion the gun requires 29lbs of propane. Then At a 3x mix i need to load 90lbs of gas. But my meter stops accepting fuel after 70. Also it is very cold where i am. I'm trying to fix this prob.
