Metal Hybrid: Work in progress

I'm currently working on a full metal hybrid.
I use a CO2 cilinder ( rated to over a 1000 Psi) as the chamber.
The ignition is a
FIRST EVER percussion cap-striking pin!!
Normally used on
blackpowder rifles.
I converted a strange inverted hammer valve( hit to close) into a persussion pin.
I have some percussion caps ( soon switch to the red caps in toy guns) and the ignition works!
The cap litterally detonates inside the Tee, wich is part of the chamber.
The gun is not finished yet, and I haven't yet added the starter-fuel meter.
It is at this stage a simple( well...simple..) combustion, until I get the shrader valve and the burst disk unit in place.
I tried lighter fuel( both spray and gasoline) but ofcourse the mix was too rich.( first time booboo nr 1)
I think the real challenge is getting the mix right in such a small chamber.
On to the pics...

Dude,..I'm 30 years old...just staying young through this hobby...
BTW: All the fittings used on this thing, I saved from other guns.
Also, I go to these, like, flea markets or garden sales or whatever, and buy all the fittings I find.
Found some interesting things that way..Like the Halon fire extinguisher, and, ofcourse, the strange-neverbefore seen, inverted hammer valve.
Only pneumatics-That's right...
But it's competition time now!!!!
Needed something new..

Damn it!, you beat me to my own idea.

, In the theories section there is a designed special round that ignights gas with a cap from a toy gun. Just recently I designed a concept(drawn in scetch) grenade launcher which uses similar rounds. The difference between yours and mine is mine has no chamber, except the round which is self contained, and yours is a hybrid. Say the chamber on mine is 40mm pvc with a 20mm projectile. It has a breech barrel that is used to take rounds in and out. Each round has the perfect amount of propane in it and should be re-usable. Designed as a non leathal weapon, or airsoft.
I don't plan to shoot anyone.
Well done with this. Toy caps work well and keep a long time in the right place. Hope you get this working.

I thought of the ignition a couple of years ago.Not because I'm a genius, but because I don't understand electronics!!!
Seemed like the simplest way to me then.I posted it on airpower, but that site is no more..
Spudstuff...what ARE you trying to say???

I cant wait for it to be finished. The percussion cap idea is awesome, gotta get myself an inverted hammer valve.
Spudstuff is probably bitching again.

Sorry to vear off-topic, but its a issue that needs to be addressed. Spudstuff, has been warned about his all to frequent b*tching, and spamming posts. You dont need to tell me how annoying it is, because I already understand. If you catch him out of line just shoot a mod a PM so we can handle it. This is here just so you know something is done about it, now continue on with the discussion, and dont reply to this issue in this thread, rather via PM.

sounds like a hammer from a gun you pull back and cock and when you pull the trigger it releases the hammer and it flies foward and hits some flint and creates a spark.

Oh, so how do you keep gasses from escaping from where the cap goes?
