I have my science project or my school certificate and have decided to build a hybrid. Its going to be my first one and I need some simple ideas.

Twitch do what PneuJose said and get a different avitar I thought you where some one else he has the same avitar and he didnt steal it from you (at least not on this forum) I know that.

yea, change ur avitar dude, and check out the mini hybrids, in hybrid forums,
thy say there powerful.....but..i dont think they will be easy to seal...anyways, minis are always fun, so if hybrid mini doesnt work, use a a combustion mini ^^

Have you run this idea by your school's administrative staff?

ya I don't think your school will allow that.... I had to change my science project just to be able to shoot a hard projectile.

Hybrids and any cannon is cool from the staff as long as its velocity testing which happens to be my project. This cannon will be my first hybrid, before I was only bothered to do mini combustions and I'll change my sig A.S.A.P.

i think you shoud just make like a mini hybrid out of 3 inch sch 80 chamber 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch barrell...

simple small good size for school i would think

I'd use steel, if possible. There's always a chance of PVC fragging, and with bystanders (other students), there could be serious suing going on.
If I were you, I'd go with a normal combustion or a pneumatic, seeing as you have no experience with either, except for minis.

Ive done normal combustions mostly stick to minis after losing my eyebrows twice and several lacerations.

Well If you really want to do a hybrid it will cost you a pretty penny considering you don't have any parts to salvage from other cannons.
use 1 1/2" sch-80 steel 12" pipe nipple and a 3/4" barrel made of pvc. add a 3/4" steel union a

btw what are you going to be "testing" in your experiment?
maybe you should use it to demonstrate fuel and air mixtures.

if your aussie potato guns are illegal in australia so you wouldn't want to go to school with it.
unless "twitch the aussie" means something else :?

Nope all aussie. My teacher said cannons are perfect for velocity testing and air fuel mixtures. As soon as I get the right parts I'll get to making it and posting some photos. Ive got about 2 1/2 months to make it. Im keeping to a schedule. 1 month to get the materials. 1 month for the build and the half for testing and trying air fuel mixtures.

Although it might be ok with your teacher there could be other fall out, such as another student telling a parent and which could leak to law enforcement.

A while ago there was a kid in his Teens and he was fined upwards of $3000 for possessing and firing a potato gun;which is classed as a fire arm and must follow all the required restrictions laws etc.

Just some food for thought.Stick to the mini size and if worst comes to worst play the innocent card  .
