I am just wondering if a bb at 200 fps would be lethal to small game like birds or rabbits. Thanks

No not at all. Try for more like 600 fps.

It depends on the weight of the projectile and the speed combined to truly get the energy of the projectile. Most likely it is not going to be lethal, as it is a BB and BBs usually don't weigh much. Now if it was a BB that weighed 10lbs it might do some significant damage at 200fps.

EDIT: It is not lethal for sure, but it might keep the squirrels away

I would get a daisy pump up pneumatic type. I have one and it shoots at 250-650fps depending on how much you pump it up. I'm not sure what model it is though. I think they cost about $50.

I have a Daisy 901 bb gun. i just got a chrony and at 1 pump it chronied in at 256 fps. At 200 fps it would definitely not be lethal to small game. I only use 1 pump to shoot squirrels and it doesn't kill them. Maybe if you hit it in the eye it would though. Depends on how good of a shot you are. :)

It might just stun a small bird.

Headshots probably will do the trick.

I wouldn't use 200 fps to kill something. My friend and i take out small game with a gun with even 600 fps and if you don't get a good shot on it, you will just put it in pain. But, if your looking for something dirt cheap with somewhat performance, get the 760 pump.

From the rules

Discussion of shooting anything at any person and/or animal is prohibited, and may result in a permanent banning of your account.

but to answer your question, unless the muzzle is pressed directly against the skull of a particularly small mouse, no - unless you're shooting at a rate of fire more than 10 BBs per second.

As long as he's not using a home-made gun it's fine, which the OP didn't state, unless I missed something. Anyway.... :)

Ah, but the rules don't specify homemade launchers, right?

For example this:
At 200 fps it would definitely not be lethal to small game. I only use 1 pump to shoot squirrels and it doesn't kill them.
... is tantamount to animal cruelty. If you have to shoot a living thing, make sure you're using a weapon powerful enough to kill it in the first place, and you've practiced enough to be able to reliably hit a vital area at your chosed distance.
