Basicly none, the motor will let out the magic blue smoke, and as we all know, magic blue smoke is what makes "lectrickal" stuff work.
The actual compressor should handle it, this is a very good implementation of such a system.

Yeah all electrical things run on smoke im an electrical/mechanical engineer student by the way
yeah I was thinking about throwing a way way more powerful motor in there and seeing how things go.. maybe a high torque brushless rc motor..

I'd gear it down, look for 180RPM, the pipe running to the schrader might fail, might pay to epoxy it into the chamber via some fittings. (Yes I'm a hypocrite)

Im'a grab these aircon units tomorrow and have a tinker.. see how that pans out. Found a couple of threads on here thats ill work off.
If there is anyone in the brissy area who know has some good info on how to setup an aircon compressor, they just might be a free one in it for you
Cutting the copper pipe in a portable aircon unit - bad choice
turns out theres gas is there
So I took the angle grinder to one of the copper pipes on the air compressor and out came all the gas that was in there.. needless to say I got out of that garage very quickly..
So heres the question, is it safe to cut the other pipe now? Has all the gas been released from the first pipe I cut?

Alrighty..
So iv pulled the aircon unit apart and Im trying work out the wiring.. I have it all figured except for one part..
So coming from the wall socket, I have a Green and Yellow wire (ground), a blue wire (positive?), and a brown wire...
green wire obviously mounts to the base of the compressor, blue wire runs via the cap then on to the the compressor..
but this brown one is the one that is tripping me up.. The brown wire runs into one of these

then out of that comes a red wire which runs to the compressor. Obviously it is a relay of some sort, but do I need it, and what does it do?

Haha so far we have only been working with more computer based stuff (microprocessors, PLD's, programming etc etc).. I think your thinking of an electricianthen you'll know the brown is live while the blue is neutral
Hmm well Ill take out the relay and see if it runs

EDIT: IT WORKS!!! I can has a working compressor..
Now I need to sort out some pressure fittings and such.. Still waiting on all my gun parts to dry, they should be fully cured tomorrow
