I know that you can make a vortex block out of that body filler stuff. I seem to have a lot of this like bake dry clay laying around, if i could get the clay to the right proportions, smoothnes, shape, etc. do you think it could work as a vortex block?

Also if i use like that clear hose from the blowgun, like in the Burnt Latke vortex, can i put that straight thru the pvc into the vortex or do i need those little attatchment at the end like in Burnt Latke's?

Possible, though in my experience clay is too fragile. Body putty or epoxy is far stronger, because it's designed to be. Clay is most always just meant to look nice.

I have used clay for a vortex block at 800 PSI but I used a pipe segment as the actual hole because of was worried the clay would wear down.

Yeah you could use the clay for a block but reinforce the hole with pipe.

Most clays that bake at oven temperature are actually a matrix of plastic beads that melt together with heat to form a solid chunk. You should be fine, but pipe inside wouldn't hurt.

Don't expect to put any mechanical stress whatsoever on the finished vortex block if made from clay. Reinforcing the vortex hole will reduce long term wear, but also make sure to secure your inlet and outlet pipes to something very solid so that they cannot shift around and crack your block.

Drill and tap, piece of steel pipe. You can use a chunk of PVC.
The larger the hole the slower the rof.

Ed, how does the second vortex work? I don't understand. I understand the first one, but the second is weird because where does the air input?

Feeds from below, like a strafer cap.

View from the bottom of the chamber.

Then welded on the bottom plate which has access to the turrent.

Modded the qev valve to open when blowgun is opened.

Uses a 5lbs co2 tank on the pack, which I yet to finish.
Have not worked on it in a couple years. I need to finish it someday...
