this really makes me sick, i had to post it because i dont think most ppl see's how paranoid our law enforcement community has become since 9/11.
this kid "amassed a huge cache of weapons" where he "possibly" was planning a school attack. cops can say he was planning on taking over the world if they wanted to.
but the worst thing is, he had a large collection of "airsoft guns" and 1 9mm rifle according to the report. come on ppl this is crazy, i feel like airsoft will be banned in america before long.
i wonder if the hand grenade was airsoft too or just one of those paper weights u can get for 7 bucks that are legal to own, they wont elaborate im sure cause they want it to sound as bad as it can get.

I seen this story in the news more then one day in a row, and your rite, there was no mention of any of them being airsoft. That is screwed up!!!!

If the kid had a 9mm asault rifle and a few a those knives that are for decoration I bet it did look like he was a psycho who was going to try and kill someone.

That is realy messed up. so basicly 99% of this guys stash is all a bunch of toys with 1 9mm rifle and that was not mentioned? How GAY!!! Spuddin is also right about the cops wanting to make things seem as bad as possible. I had a friend that had an illegal knife on him and he diddent know it was illegal when he bought it. It was supposed to just be an illegal weapon and he would be fined or something, but then this cop said that it was a deadly weapon because it was in his pocket! COME ON! Like your going to wave a kife around in public. Because of that he got sent to juvi for 2 weeks.

As soon as I saw this story, I realized they were dramaticizing it...Sure, he may have been crazy, but he had a SINGLE 9mm. Honestly... What if he just liked hunting?

With the cops, I concur that this kid may have issuesm but I don't believe they gave us the whole picture... Did anyone notice that the kid didn't get a chance to speak out for himself?

I suddenly have the urge to donate several hundred dollars to the NRA.
This makes me sick, its almost as bad as the kid who was shot for having a 'grenade'. It was a pear.

In all fairness:

Police found a 9 mm assault rifle, air guns, hand grenades, a bomb-making book, videos of the 1999 Columbine attack in Colorado and violence-filled notebooks at the boy's home Wednesday, prosecutors said. They found no ammunition for the most dangerous weapon, the assault rifle.

The boy had talked about launching a school attack, authorities said.

They might have over-dramatised the issue but you would still expect them to take action in this situation.

I saw this article in the news b4 i saw it here. And guess who was helping this kid amass all of these weapons..... HIS MOM.

This is just insane! A kid gets arrested for owning a bunch of airsoft guns. I know a guy who owns about 100 real sporting rifles and nothing has happened to him. I agree with windshrike on donating a couple hundred dollars to the NRA.

Id donate if I could. Gun laws are just stupid here just because a few American idiots (no offence to all the decent americans who use them safely and properly) shoot up schools. Our gun laws are too close to making owning any gun illegal. If this kid got done for having airsoft guns and ornamental knives whats gonna happen to the .222 in my cabinet, my hunting knives and my bows? Whats gonna happen to me? Its all just pure BS

you guys need to see that yes the cops might have overreacted a bit BUT he did have like 50 airsoft guns videos of school shootings some hissy pissy i hate life every one should die crap in his book thingy,a nine mil,and some knives.Now i would think this would just be a retarded emo kid but the bomb book and columbine video combo makes me realize what the cops were thinking.

^ I agree. Sure the airsoft toys are fine but I bet if it were you getting shot at or blown up you'd say that the cops didnt do enough. The best defence is a good offence I say! And I never ever take what the media says as true anyway they are notorious for editing and manipulating stories so they fit with the stations political stance.

Okay, Okay. If thats the reaction American Police give to a Boy with Airsoft guns then if I, or any other Aussie Spudders, were caught with what we have the Australian Police would be likely to go apeshit and Whip out their Weapons.

Airsoft Guns? He got arrested for that.

you know he had a nine milimeter gun and knives and bombs not just airsoft guns.
