Damn I like this airmachine gun! It even shoots at 270ft/s that is crazy! Though I do like it I dont think ill make something like it bc its so bulky. The system works like an autococker> with piston. I am going for uzi style.

Unless you have a HPA/CO2 bottle and regulator, you're always going to be tied to a big tank or compressor, so might as well go for "heavy machine gun" style

Good point lol. I do think though that I could get a 25 shot automatic out of a 1.5L 8atm pressure bottle. That then doesnt sound very interesting again for a bb battle or something

I have played in airsoft games before with ppl with mini electrics. My guns always outranged them eventhough they had a hopup. Also the looks of my airguns made ehm scared to even come close. It was always fun to play as a sniper as we used to play in a neighborhood where construction of new houses was taking place. But yeah with this regulator it would be even better. It may be a good investment for future builds so ill think about it. For now, check out this film I made 3-4 years ago [youtube][/youtube] this one fires automatic but goes too fast too reload. To be honest I clogged up the barrel so that it cycles automatic (so its kinda fake) but it does show me that it is possible. But like u autobreech the fire is a bit on the highside. I hope we can solve this.

I'm sure it can be solved, I think the crucial design element is a feature which blocks off the flow once the bolt starts to move, in such a manner as to allow the chamber to empty and avoid the bolt hanging, which is what I'm trying to address with my latest design.
Some "plans", and a lot more pictures - and some discussion/facts. Hope it proves useful.
I'll say more later - I've got to go elsewhere now, I have to move between lectures.
EDIT:
@Hotwired: You can tell the barrel is being moved by something other than recoil, because the main body of the "gun" moves against the recoil - forwards, so it's taking the equal and opposite force.

I am aware of the action, I gave my opinion on it in my last post.
To reword what I said, the movement of the gun while firing is a bit much for firing small plastic pellets.

The way you said it sort of implied you weren't entirely sure. I was just confirming what you had said, sorry if that wasn't clear.
It's kind of ironic that in the attempts to create "realistic recoil", the builders created some thing that "kicks" in the wrong direction. But it does look quite cool.
Of course, the only way you could get realistic .50 cal recoil from an airsoft pellet would be to chuck it out at Mach 75, give or take - which ironically would have higher kinetic energy than a real .50 BMG round.
