I was just trying to figure out how to squeeze everything into my new design, and was wondering how much research has gone into what the air inlet on the vortex block should be shaped like, or where it should be positioned.
Several possibilities for things that I am not sure if they will help:
Rather than have the inlet be your standard small pipe, I was thinking it might be better to have it come through a slit that goes part of the way across the block, thus creating less turbulence as the air swirls around and around, and possibly pulling BBs in better.
Any other rotational positioning of the inlet. Every design that I have seen so far has had them at a 90deg angle, Is there a reason for not increasing or decreasing that angle? It would be advantageous for me if it worked fine coming in at a 180deg angle from the barrel.

comments, questions appreciated.

Well, I am pretty sure that it is a small hole for the venturi effect, which causes the air to speed up, so I am not sure that I slot would help.

Ya, I've seen that a million times, and every one of those is no different from a standard vortex block, just full closed on one side, and full open on the other, rather than half and half. I was actually considering using a modified "B mag" turned on its side, but because of where my air tank is, it would be better for me to have the inlet come from the same direction as the barrel (ie it does a 180deg turn in the cap rather than a 90deg turn

I guess I don't really understand how you want it setup... if you draw a picture and post it I can help you further...

but If I understand your most recent post then you want your air inlet to be right above your air outlet... I dont understand why you would want to do this.. you could easly have tubing go around if your airtank is right above or below your barrel...

With a vortex cap you can go every direction except inline. and since there is already an inline vortex, you can go any direction you want...

Do me a favor and draw a picture... lol

OH sorry! LOL I was talking to Lentamentalisk. I thought I knew what he was talking about, until I read your post. It brought up too many factors that might have been what Lentamentalisk was talking about, so I stepped away thoroughly confused. He is the one who needs to post a pic, not you lol. I understand yours just fine.

EDIT: Oh, don't see why it wouldn't work. YEAH! 750 posts!
