How would you stop a airsoft bb from going to far down the barrel? I am making a single shot cannon but can't figure out anyways. Would I use some kind of O-ring that fits the bb tight like a gas airsoft gun does?

what do you mean? you mean so that it doesnt go into the chamber? if so, then you could drill a hole and put a paper clip through it and epoxy it so it doesnt come out.

do you have any tiny screws? lie the ones that are half a cm long. if so just drill a hole the size of the screw. screw it in slap some jb weld over it and you've got some sort of ammo stop.

Like say I put the barrel right after the valve. How would I stop the bb from going into the valve when loading?

the way i said to, or do you mean a breach loader where the barrel screws off? then you close the valve buddy.

Well you could also drill a hole on the top of a ball valve for breach loading and the bb wont go into the barrel into you turn the valve.

If I glued a o-ring that fit in the barrel but smaller than the bb would it work? So then the bb will rest in the o-ring but when fired shoots out of the o-ring through the barrel?

good luck with that, i really think my way or pyromaniac's way is best. it would be nearly impossible to do it the way you want to, and that would mean that the barrel fits the bb really loose, which would hurt the proformance dearly.

True. Okay thanks for the help, i'll probaly use one of the ideas you guys gave me. I just figured that the barrel would be loose too so that wouldnt be that much fun.

If your barrel's made of brass or aluminum, I find a nail and hammer used t omake an ever-so-tiny indentation at the breech is sufficient.

If you use steel bb's put a magnet on the barrel where you want it to stay.

just drill a hole through bother sides of your barrel, put a paperclip through and tape.

Well while searching through my random box of parts I found a piece of small brass that fits into my barrel but is too small for the bb to pass by. So I will use this. Once again thanks for all the help guys.

I think your original idea would work. Using custom O-rings that would be slightly too big. I am assuming the BB loads from the back of the barrel in a chamber, I would have the barrel unscrew from the rest of the gun with a spot to put in replacement O-rings. So if you could find like 6.x mm inside diameter O-rings it should work.Hope this helps,....maybe... Spud

well real airsoft guns use o rings both to build up pressure behind the bb and stop it form falling out. but getting an o-ring that is the right size is hard. i have found that attaching a 1/8 coupling to an 1/8 barrel (good size for airsoft bbs i dont know what your using) and filling it with hot glue works quite well. after the glue drys bore out some of the glue with a 1/4 drill bit. this will stop the bbs from falling out and will build up some pressure behind them.
