Hey all, well i need to buy a weaker spring from mcmaster, my local hardware store doesn't carry weak enough ones, but i have no idea how to pick one out. I need it to compress easily, obviously. It needs to have a diameter less than 1", preferably 15/16", and it has to be fairly long, I'd say... 3-4"...

can someone help me pick one out? I don't know how to by load pounds, i have no idea what those mean.

thanks,

Have you looked at the springs inside sprinkler heads? They are nice and soft and come in a variety of sizes. For long thin ones obviously look in the long thin sprinkler heads. You can unscrew most of the sprinkler heads and look at their spring in the store.

when you say sprinkler heads, do youmean the things you screw onto a hose and pull a handle to let the water out??? And some have adjustable sprays???

No, by sprinkler head, he means the head to a sprinkler.

He said he couldn't find any at his hardware store...

Yeah, sprinkler head springs are perfect soft springs. What do you need it for?
