Machined* pengun

Miniature guns are novelty custom, unique, and sometime downright crude! Common construction materials often include pill bottles or pens. Show us your work!

A cocky guy from my school challenged me to make a "nice looking" stuff that shoots  . He wasn't serious but I decided to make something any way. Today a parting blade I have ordered arrived, so I thought I can finally turn some aluminium. My first thought is a >1000 psi pengun.
I haven't bought the lathe and mill yet so it was made on my drill press (good stuff, with some nice blade and mill bits you can do a lot).
Body made of 10 OD stainless steel, 1mm wall. Nose cone made out of a 12mm OD aluminium rod. Haven't finish it yet, not sure if nylon is a good material for the piston.

Looks a bit rough on the inside ...or is that tape?
With the outer tube on it looks good though.

How is the barrel ( going to be) sealed to the endplug?

No reason why it shouldn't work well, delrin has similary properties and I found it great for HPA pistons.

Looking good for a drill press, you're going to love having a lathe ;)

Not bad at all :) I hope you put something on the breech end of the barrel to stop it going all cookie-cutter on the piston seal...

2mm... I was going for 4.5mm pellets but didn´t have the right size tube. Now I do so when I get my lathe and mill a new one will be made :)

If you could put on the clip-on thingy an actual ballpoint would have...

the cocky guy wouldn't expect it...

take a piece of paper...and the pengun..

"let me explain it to you"
he'll thing you'll draw out the plan...but you fold the paper and set it up as a target..?

:D

Hah, sweet!

Yeah, for smaller diameter things, a decent drill press can make for a ghetto lathe. :) Not as precise, but better than nothing.
