Well the title basically says it all. I have a schrader that has unwanted rubber on it. I want to use this for my pen gun that will be eventually finished. Is there any non tedious way i can do this quickly and effectively?

Thanks :)

Use a lathe and a cutting tool.

I use a heavy craft knife or a penknife to slice the rubber off in strips down the tube, no it's not instant but it gets there in a few minutes.

If you want to rush things then remove the valve core, heat up the metal tube til the rubber softens (and more than likely starts to burn) and try hauling it out.

The rubber is bonded to the metal, there is no instant solution.

I did this for a short section of schrader valve, I just put it in a drill and pushed it up against a rasp and file.

I used a very sharp knife for the big sections, then used a dremel with a small sanding wheel bit to get the rest... didnt take too long, maybe 5 minutes tops.

As above, drill and file work for me. Just put the plastic cap over the head to protect the threads and don't clamp it too hard.

That's the best way to do it. You could either sit it in a pot of how water or hold it over a fire for a little while. Don't heat it for to long or else the will melt in all its entirety and be a big sticky mess. Id say hold it close to a fire for like a minute or two max.
