I used hot glue for the piston and 1.5mm neoprene sheet for the piston head.

Epoxy would be better though. You could also use as solid rubber piston from a 6mm sheet like this one...

No, should be thick enough providing your careful with the mesurments. But if your worried about not geting it perfect make an epoxy piston with a 1.5mm head, hot glue if you have to but epoxys better.

Try getting ahold of rubber test tube stoppers. They work great and are more than thick enough. Then just sharpen a pipe the same size as your chamber and drill a piston out.

Solid rubber pistons are simple and effective.

Cut from rubber sheer with a sharpened piece of chamber tubing, be careful though ;)

1) clamp drill in vice

2) clamp piece of chamber material in drill chuck

3) use file and sandpaper to sharpen
and were did u get rubber that thick
found it at work, but there are plenty of sources, synthetic wine corks for example.

No.

Is it actual two part epoxy though?

You should be able to move it by blowing in the pipe. For rubber, bike inner tube, some mouse pads, rubber washers, etc.

Check a plumbing supply store. They ought to have tap washers in the thickness you need which you could cut a 6mm piston out of.
