I am selling all of my paintball gear that I never use to buy a Supah Valve from Joel. I am considering making a replica of his SP93XX, as it is very simple. Now some questions I have; If I buy the one that uses a ball valve, can I add a sprinkler later if I don't like the way the ball valve performs? Also, would it be smart to use it with a golfball barrel? It says they go out of sight almost instantly, and if this is true, I don't know because I would like to see it travel. If not a golfball barrel, what size barrel do you suggest?

Here is Joel's SP93XX I will probably model mine after.

The "almost instanly" bit is hype. You can expect to be able to watch it for a 3-4 seconds - out to 500 or 700 yards.

As to what diameter barrel I'd get, I would definatly make them interchangable.
To start off with, maybe a 1.7" with hop-up and a 2" (riffled would be cool).

I thought it was hype. Sounded somewhat, impossible. What diameter and length do you suggest I use for the chamber and barrel? I was thinking maybe 3' of 4" SCH 80 pipe. I get all my SCH 80 pipe and fittings for free so availability is not a concern. For the barrel, maybe 5' of of golfball barrel? Let me know what you think I should do.

Thanks.

well i think golf balls traveling 800+ yards might step out of the potato or similer objects region in the ATF classification

My understanding is that that's not a ruling by the ATF, but instead is it's interpretation of it's rules... I'm not sure of the rules themselves, but I beleive they discuss bore diameter for firearms (which is defined as using a solid propellent or somthing) and destructive - explosive or incentiary - munitions.

Well if you dont want it to go out of sight so quickly, use less pressure simple and any bet it will work..lol..Just go interchangeable barrels.
