i am building my first pnuematic potato gun and srinkler valves pose a large problem for me.
my first problem is that i dont have a 24v power source. any solutions?

my second problem is that they are expensive (kinda) and i want a cheaper alternative. any solutions?

and finaly the alternatives are all slower (ball valves especially) in opening. any fast alternatives?

i am making a over-under design so i cant easily put in a piston/diaphragm

pnumatically modify the sprinkler valve.
the valves are $10-18 ar any home depot. get a 1 inch orbit watermaster
youre not gonna get the same resolt as a sprinkler valve for cheaper.

Um...If you need 24 volts just wire three 9-volts to it, that's what everyone else does, just wire batteries so their voltage equals 24 or a little higher.

hmm...yes the 9volts will work but i have read of them depleating quickly...i this true?
also i said that i wanted a cheaper alternative to the sprinkler valve...(if all else fails i can easily get one but i would rather not spend 17 bucks...or my dad wouldnt  :D )

thanks any way though i might just have to go with the sprinkler valve

also is this the right kind to mod?Image

Definately look into a piston valve. Before, I did not think I could make an efficient one but now have a model, and the real one is on the way.

Basically, its easier to make than one would think.
