Even with a sabot round, it doesnt matter:
It isn't going to go very far no matter what you shoot it out of, unless you eliminate the gases around it.
Even if you would use such a powerful gun that you hit mach 2, the t-shirt will not come much further, if it doesnt disintegrate.
Till the day I'm dieing, I'll keep them spuddies flying, 'cause I can!

Also the site won't allow people outside Canada to view videos. I think the BBC does something like that too... Or maybe it used to.

You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

Another Idea; Print out just a white sheet onto that printer paper that you can iron onto t-shirts. fold it so the middle is in front and use either electrical tape or plastic ties to hold it's shape, now not unlike a bullet. Use it with a breach loader, and fire.

EDIT: Just hit today's spudbux limit, haha.

T-shirts are not aerodynamic, but if it were well rolled, or vacuum packed... I can see that moderate ranges of a couple of hundred yards are possible, although a cannon with the capacity to do that would not make a good thing to fire into an audience.

You'd certainly struggle to throw one much further though.
Just like it's relatively easy to put a golf ball 300 or 400 yards, but it would be very tricky to go past 600 yards.

If you want to do proper long range, you can't just throw velocity at the problem (although you do need it) - the real solution is a ballistic coefficient higher than a 3 year old can count without taking off his shoes.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

I lol'd, srysly. :D :D
I just searched t-shirt launcher and look what came up. Over 250 yards!!! With two lengths of surgical tubing!!! :D :D :D
I have no doubt that they're exaggerating, but what if they aren't????

They are. But I've seen one similar to that, albeit smaller, work. Went a good 100-130 feet. But 100 feet is ~30 yards. They may not work like advertised, but they DO tend to give low end spudguns a run for their money.
