Pnuematic + Water = More Power?

What if you added water to the barrel behind the projectile. Or in the chamber infront of the pressure charge?
It Wouldnt give it any more power, it would give it less, since water is much heavier than air, it will take more time to reach the end of the barrel.

It would also have a lot of recoil. If I'm right, (please tell me if I am wrong) that the more recoil, the more energy is being used to move the gun backwards. This falls into the theory that there is always an equal opposite reaction to every action. So, If it has more recoil, then more of the energy is being transfered to the water(causing more recoil), as apposed as the round. Less energy to the round= less impressive reults from it.
Everyone of my pneumatics I've built, I've put water in the barrel. The recoil is massive compared to its intended uses.
All the water is going to do (besides take away from the power) is act as a wadding, maybe.

You are exactly correct. Not properly bracing your body when firing a recoil-operated firearm (especially shotguns) can easily cause it to short-stroke.brogdenlaxmiddie wrote:It would also have a lot of recoil. If you add water to the chamber the only thing it will do is make your chamber volume smaller. Since water is pretty much incompressable, it's just taking up room in your chamber. The only way it works is like any bottle rockets. When the water is at the bottom near the exit and the air pressure is above it, this forces the water out sending the bottle sky high, pointless for us spudders.

I don't know about pointless.... Eventually somebody's gonna find a use for it.
