This is probably mainly to Gort because he knows electrical stuff well...

I have a few questions...

How would I set up a 555 timer\switching transistor circuit that work for a spud gun ignition... What kind of transistor would I need?

How much voltage do I need?

Should I use a flyback for the supply to the ignition coil or would a 55 circuit be better since I know how to do electronic stuff easily....

Most homemade high voltage circuits I've seen can only produce between 14K - 40k volts, I think you might just be better off getting a 62k - 100K stun gun on eBay. You can find 100K rechargeable stun guns for $15.

I don't want to buy a stun gun really, I rather make my own flyback type...

I want to make the kind of circuits Gort uses in his universal boxes...

Gort could you please post here or PM me the ciruit you use for the stun gun\flyback circuit, the kind you used in your newest fancy box...

stun guns are illegal in many areas so they are not an option for many people

Well I'm sorry that I can't help you too much here because I absolutely despise timer circuits in these contol boxes. I simply use a stun gun.

If you cannot legally own or buy a stun gun then I can help you with that. I will send the circuit only so you can put it in your own box like I do.

I didn't buy anything yet, I was just using parts that I have seeing that I work on circuits and whatnot all the time, I'm just new to the high voltage stuff...

I got 3 used Kodak disposable cameras from a grocery store that my Aunt works at I'm just going to set that up to run through a flyback transformer to get the voltage from 300v up to atleast 30kv and put it in a box with my fan circuit....

I'm going to have my fan hooked up to a 555 circuit to run for about 20 seconds and I'm going to have a bypass to have it run manual...

I don't know when I'm going to go up to RadioShack to get some more strip board and relays though....

I'm going to use a Stun gun eventually... I just found un-opened 500 pack of ceramic resistors so I'll return that to RadioShack if I can ( I bought it in 2004 :D ) and that money will go into the stun gun fund....
