I was considering building a pnuematic with a backpack that consisted of 2 , 4" resevoirs, would it be safe to have 2 four inch resevoirs dump air in a 1 inch hose? or would that be too much air being forced into the hose at one time? I also havent figured out yet how to connect the hose to the resevoir and the barrel, any thoughts on that?

It's not the volume of air that's dumped, it's the pressure that it's at. If it's within the limit of the hose, you will be fine.

Depends on what size barrel you plan on using. The Proton Pack had a 1.5" or 2" hose or something.

Depending on your setup I would try to mount your valve(s) on the barrel side of the tube to reduce dead space.

Also depending on what kind of tubing you plan on using, you can probably just use barb connectors and hose clamps.

If you plan on using 2 reservoirs you might consider using 2 valves (assuming that you plan on sprinkler valves) to get better flow.

In any case the tube should be at least the same size of your valve and/or valves combined port size. to maximize flow.
