I thought it would be interesting to see what cool images this community has generated, so if you've got a photo that is just awesome, put it up

I'll start with some muzzle flashes from my little popgun:

I love how pvc glows when used for combustion. a clear chamber costs way to much for me though.

if you want to know how i got those, just ask.

Very cool. What were they taken with?

I'll have a look around soon.

I took them with a DSLR camera (nikon D40) but any camera where you can change the shutter speed will work. clamp or vice your cannon down in the darkest place in our house (these were all shot at night) point the camera at the muzzle, set it's shutter speed to around 5 seconds (or longer if you need more time) and it's ISO to max, turn off the lights, open the shutter and pull the trigger.

The first one was done with a burst disk, the other two just had the chamber open

They all took several tries to get a bright enough shot to look like that

edit: oh, and use a tripod for the camera of possible

Cool photo. I can only see the last one where the other ones say they have been deleted though.

It looks to me like a Punkin Chunkin' contest... google them. Also, it doesn't look like a video still... most likely a DSLR continuously shooting at a few images per second, and then he just took the best one.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Oh I didn't know someone was replying to my post. Sorry for the Delay. It is from a Pumpkin Chunkin contest in Greyledge farms in CT. The ammo is obviously pumpkins. It takes place once every year in October. The photo is indeed from a DSLR. It came from a Canon Digital Rebel XSi on continuous drive. Stats of the photo are as listed:

Taken 10/25/09
f/3.5
1/1600 sec.
ISO-400
20mm

FYI The name of the cannon firing is "The Lord of the Gourd"
