If they do they don't seem to be taking much action. Considering there is a UK spudgun forum I doubt it...

Of course here we're very careful not to promote/describe/approve of outright illegal activities, though one must admit there are plenty of grey areas.

The UK forum is all but dead, only a handfull of regulars. I'm finding it usefull though, they can "translate" some things.

Back on spudtech I remember a guy had joined the forum wanting to know how to make a BBMG so he could "deal with bullies at school", that sort of content is immediately frowned upon because aside from being wrong and illegal it endangers the integrity of what is, if followed correctly, is a very satisfying and educational hobby.

You probably won't end up with any trouble if you're not an idiot about it.

However, I wouldn't trust in that logic of yours.
If the fuzz try to deal with a relatively harmless individual doing creative plumbing, they get headlines like "Police arrest firearms manufacturer".
If they attempt to deal with the kids with the Glocks shoved down the back of their knickers, they get headlines like "Two police officers shot".

Unfortunately, policing does often come down to statistics, what the media would think, and the cost of actually dealing with something (cost including finance, time and risk of serious injury/death).
Just occurred to me, anyone think "the law" might monitor sites like this?
I make the basic assumption that they could. However, the British rozzers are unlikely to have the time to extensively browse what is on the surface, a US forum full of teenagers with an interest in airborne potatoes.

As SpudBlaster15 says, as long as you avoid actually causing any big alarms, like giving them the idea you're about to be (or have been) a major threat to anyone or anything, you shouldn't have any problems.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

No one said anything about suppressors being legal, just that he was making plans for one :)

Stick with long barreled pneumatics and supressors are entirely unnecessary. I used to have a pneumatic that shot at about 250 ft*lbs. It was quiet enough that it wouldn't even disturb a normal conversation.

Thank you, I'll bear that in mind. Is the length/diameter ratio important?
I was actually thinking of aiming quite high and try to emulate my fellow limey Hotwired by making something similar (ie rip off) to Copperhead.
I'll just give it a longer barrel.

No. Or at least, not for the reasons being discussed. What IS important is the pressure in the barrel and chamber at the moment the projectile leaves the barrel is. The lower the pressure(s), the quieter the gun for any given sized projectile.

Just like opening a bottle of champagne. If it is still carbonated it'll go "pop". If it has leaked or otherwise gone flat then it wont "pop" when being opened.

Now I'm thinking longer barrell, and supressor. Very quiet middle class suburbia where I live.
