Is ABS the same dimensions as PVC? Can I get ABS fittings? Can ABS hold as much pressure as PVC? If not, can I get some numbers? Is it true that ABS is more durable?

Hey,

So I was wondering if it would be safe to solder a 1/4" male bsp fitting into a a 1/2" copper elbow. This section of my cannon is the firing chamber and I hope to have it running at around 200psi

Thanks in advance
-Paul :)

Even my crappiest pieces of soldering held up fine at 240 psi, so I'd say that you'll be safe.

Has anyone worked with 1/4" sheet aluminum? I want to get some for a project, but I'm not sure how hard it will be to work with. I have access to a dremel press, an oscillating tool, and various hand tools
I love lamp

Most of it is easy to work with. What are you try to do to it?

I found this in my kitchen;

Image

Pretty useful as an ignition system I think :)
I just have to find out how to wire it up correctly.

the 4 connections on the left are the HV out, on the right there are connections (middle one is HV ground) the top one reads + MP, and the bottom one -P.

It's manufactured by ispracontrols.
I believe I found the data sheet, but I can't find out what's the right voltage.
I don't want to fry it by putting 230vac on it without knowing if it is correct

I completely checked it, but there's no serial number on it.

The middle terminal is not necessarily HV ground. It depends how it was wired up.
It is typically Earth ground or safety ground for the input power.

If you take a closeup picture of the number that is on it without a flash and use macro mode would help to decipher!

Never mind, it says Ispra Controls.
What brand and model stove would help also.

here's a better pic.

The brand is Etna, I can't find out the model anymore, the stove is at the scrapyard now...
The middle terminal is not HV ground.
It is Earth ground or safety ground for the input power.
maybe a stupid question, but where does the HV spark jump to then?

That is why I rephrased my posting.
If each HV lead went to a separate burner then the earth ground may have been used.

If you are in the US it may be 110VAC 60HZ powered.

This was the case, so I assume that the spark jumps to the ground.

I'm in the Netherlands. My best bet would be wiring it up to 230VAC (50Hz) I guess :)
