anyone know how to make a bbq igniter spark larger?
i was wondering if there is a way to make the spark from a bbq ignitor bigger or jump further. i was thinking along the lines of coils but i dont know too much about coils or how to set it up. if anyone has any ideas please post them. thanks

well im in to dirtbike/atv stuff so if you have about $200 to dump you could get an iCat (although i doubt you have that $ to cause i shure dont at least not on a tater-cannon) you could probably get that to work
Look up DIsposable Camera Ignition on google. It pumps about 10,000 volts out with low amps so it won't hurt you but will make a nice spark. When the zap goes through the screws when their touching it's enough to vaporize part of the screw over time.

Adding any induction device to a BBQ ignighter (coils, whatnot) will only decrease preformance, and capacitors to store the charge will leak too quickly to be practical. Your best bet is to use short lead wires.

Yes there really is no way to increase the spark length, perhaps adding more wires to create two sparks, but it would make them weaker...
