My brother and I have come up with a neat idea for equalization. Instead of losing air when firing a piston or worrying about a check valve, we make bypass equalization which basically is just a hose with a ball valve. You tap the ball valve above your piston/diaphragm and the hose into the chamber. Then you turn on the ball valve when you want to equalize. amd when you want to fire you turn the valve off. This makes it really simple for equalizing your chamber and pilot.

Been done before. It would be cheaper to use the check valve than 2 or 3 ball valves.

You don't need that many valves, only 1 small ball valve. It costs 'bout $5 for the valve and $1 for the hose whereas a check valve costs at the low end $10. That guy just went crazy with the hose and ball valves.

Gall, that stinks. Are you buying it from a place like Home depot or Ace because they're expensive there. I get mine from a plumbing store. They're really cheap, $5 for a 1/4" ball valve or I think $10 for a 1" ball valve. If you have an account with them you could get a 1" ball valve for $7-8.

Wow I got my (Im the one who made that cannon) 1/4" ball valves for $4 at home depot.
And hmmm crazy with the ball valves huh? I had to make it look cool!
Ball valves make it look all technical which is sweet.
