Hi, I'm a little confused about this cloud idea. I don't really understand how it works. I understand the vortex idea, but it seems to wear down over time. WHich is better, cloud or vortex?

Thanks

clouds are easy to make and perform better i think, vortexes take a bit of R&D to make them work. basically you have an open chamber with bb's in it, the air from a blowgun makes the bb's blow around in the chamber, and they follow the flow of the air out the barrel

Let me get this straight, you just fire air through a chamber, and the bbs find their own way out? they just follow the air... it sounds so simple. I guess sloping the chamber towards the barrel helps the bbs and air leave easier..

Thanks a bunch

Aaron, if you want a good project for your vortex strafers, and you have a drillpress and a sander. grab some 1/8" aluminum plate, and some aluminum about 1"x1.5" and get to work

Alumium is most likely the best material for a vortex disk. It's durable, easy to work with, and pays for itself overtime.

As for reliability, clouds are probably a bit better. Don't ask me why though, I've never built a BBMG (parents would go nuts.).

Drac, i'd think that your parents would go more crazy over a 300 caliber spudgun than a .177 cal bb gun, is it just because it would make a mess? if it is just get an extendable magnet and pick em all up
