I was looking at designs for piston pneumatics and I don't like the perpindicular set-up. In my design the barrel is actually attached to the piston. The picture might explain more. I am going to add a trigger set up to hold the piston against the blocker and a spring to return the piston to the closed position. I may upgrade this system further if it works to make a bolt with it for auto-loading.

Why not allow the air to equalize into the space in front of the barrel? This would allow it to be opperated with a pilot valve, greatly simplifing construction.

I guess I could do that but, I'm not sure how to tap a blowgun into PVC, plus my friend has a few broken airsoft guns he's letting me take apart for parts. I'm gonna use the trigger to make it feel more like a real gun. This idea would make a really cool PVC paintball sniper rifle.
