Does anyone here know how a blowgun works? I was whondering if it was possible to make a large PVC version of one.

if your talking about the blow guns natives in the amazon use, it's gonna be hard to blow a big one, rite ! i had a 40 caliber one 54" long deadly accuret from point blank to about 30', you can get them from http://www.sportsmansguide.com/ , thats the site i got mine from, i also got some great steel head darts, they were awsume

There's a nice diagram I made of the internals of a blowgun... the blue thing is the moving part, which is pushed down by a lever on the handle. The red things are O-rings, the grey dots all in a row represent the spring, and the light grey represents the main body of the blowgun.

As to making a big blowgun, it'll get very hard to actuate at diameters over 1/2".

So basically the piston moves down and the air leaks AROUND it? I might try to make a design for this but it porbably won't work. Thanks for the help leadbath.
