You guys have no clue what your talking about, this isn't directly to you hose_spud, but you don't understand either...huse_spud wrote:frogy settle down, atlantis said:$117.32 for a 1" Solenoid Valve, don't those normallly cost 15-20 bucks?
it was right of me to assume that.
and like i said earlier: if youre gonna blow 100+ bucks on a valve, do it on a supah not a spinkler. (solenoid)
and pimpmann i now understand why they are so expensive but like i said: supah not solenoid.
and spudshot, no one's pissed about prices, we're just curious y these products are so expensive. people shouldn't get pissed about prices, there's usually a cheaper alternative.
the end!
McMaster sells a 1" solenoid valve for $127 something...
Joel sells a 1" sprinkler valve (that has a solenoid) for $17
#1. A sprinkler valve may have a solenoid, but it's not a real solenoid valve....
#2. McMaster sells steel \ iron valves for $127.... they aren't plastic
#3. McMasters valves are make for pressure because they're metal, they can probably do 500 psi +
Back to #1. A sprinkler valve is a diaphragm valve, not a solenoid valve... a Solenoid valve opens an closes a gateway electronically, very fast....
A sprinkler valve uses a pilot that leaks to open the gateway, causing it to be slower to open and slower to close...
I'm a paitball Tech at my local field and all high end paintball guns have solenoid valves in them, I know what I'm talking about.
