I'm building my first combustion spud gun, and a thought struck me after a bit.... (especially after a semi-successful solvent welding job), would a spud gun with a chamber and barrel and other parts joined by threading hold up? I noticed how I could get threaded or unthreaded ends for my clean-out plug, and I thought about constructing another gun using only threading. I can get the pipes for the barrel and chamber threaded at Lowe's for free (well, I have to buy it too....).
Would the above idea work for a combustion or pneumatic gun, both, or neither?

you wouldnt get the pipe itself threaded, you would use male and female adapters that were solvent welded to the pipe, threaded joints are strong enough to use in cannons, they're helpful if you have long barrels or somehting like that

No, never do that! The arora of a barrel is mutualy incompatible with the one of the fittings, and attempting to combine them will touch off a nucular reaction of the hydrogens, catalized by the clorine in the PVC. The yeild of this has been estimated at 5 kilotons for a female fitting on 2" pipe.
In truth, this is a major security concern; all of these components are readily available at your local hardwear store, and the device is fully capable of leveling a small town.
...incase you didn't catch it, that was sarcasm. It is fine to attach a barrel via a threaded fitting, and indeed it is often usefull; it allows the finished launcher to be shorter.

I was trying to make sense of the first sentence, I was thinking maybe by arora you meant area. You had me going.....
For the next one I construct, I'll definately use threading where possible as I've just finished installing a chamber fan and it was difficult to work because the chamber had a 3' barrel sticking out of it.

No, I meant arora - ya know, that feild of energy that pysics claim they can see around a person. I think they sometimes extend it to non-animate objects. A way of saying "vibes", I geuss, that doesn't make you seem like a stoner from the 60's... but intead a con artist from today.
