I decided I had nothing better to do that figure out a way to remotely trigger my gun, and I mean remotely.

Well I got a small wireless webserver all set, which is hooked to my pneumatic cannon's solenoid. There is a webcam & video streaming service installed as well.

Completing my solenoid circuit via computer was much more complicated than I thought, so I wound up using the servers scroll lock key. My linux server can control that key's led, and so can I.

This is probably illegal, but how cool would it be to pay like $2 to shoot people in a city using plain pressurized air? Simple wifi from a starbucks, my compressor and air cannon... :) The server will just have a simple simple time limit that only gives 1 shot per 30 seconds (so it can recharge). People can watch people approaching using a cheap wide-view webcam, and press a button to nail em :)

Maybe I'll just have it aimed @ me, with the server on while I'm on my computer.

Just a random idea, anyone want to elaborate?

Sounds a bit dodgy if used against unsuspecting victims in a public place. why not hook it up to moveable turret that people can control remotely to shoot at targets on your property? You could offer a nominal cash prize for a certain number of targets hit, a sort of online fairground shooting game :)

I think that such a gun would make for a good episode of "Balls of Steel".
Like how many terrorists can i "not shoot"!

Regardless of the dangers, the term "gun" can cause quite a hysteria. As well people get very mad when they are embraced in public. So they could then exploit lines of logic if they felt like getting the police involved. Mainly exposing where it crosses the line. "If using a remote controlled GUN isn't a crime, what is?"

Not mention your going to be making cents on the day. Hefted with criminal liability. Not good.
:(

Do something like make a (NICE) potato gun website, add adsense, and get some traffic across it? I mean don't even sell anything, just get traffic through the infromation you provide.

I know someone that does this and gets around 600-800 a month. About the same size as SpudFiles...
