ignition source

there is a link to what could be an ignition source, Im not sure if it would work, or if it would be worth it to make. it seems really simple and reliable if it would work.

i made one of those, without the jar, it can give u 3v +
looks really dirty if u know what i mean, gave new meaning to the not so popular insult: "go ionize yourself"
i was thinking of adapting that concept onto my bike wheels

I'v heard that friction macheins don't work terribly well on humid days, and such a friction machein probably won't provide voltage much better than that of a BBQ sparker. Furthermore, there will be a heafty delay between when you want to fire and when it acctualy does, which is a saftey concern.

Yes the first thing I thought was "What about humid days?"
Those don't look very reliable, just using a Piezo lighter is good enough for me.

you could make it work, but save the effort and go by a BBQ lighter or something.
