Pipe Inner Diameter

I'm trying to make a piston for my next cannon. All I have laying around to test fit it is a chunk of 3" NSF-dwv pipe. I was wondering if this has the same Inner Diameter as 3" SCH 40 PVC. Also, I found a rubber washer that came with a sink drain, could I use that for a seal?

If it's sch 40 then yes, It should have the same ID.

I don't think it's SCH 40. This is what I can read off the side it's kind of worn down.
G1 3.25--IN OD PVC DWV ASTM D2949 [NSF-dwv] 60035 24 404I
That's all I can read.

No, That isn't sch 40, it says dwv and dosn't have a pressure rating. It might work but I don't think so because there definitily(sp) is a difference between sch 80 and sch 40, so therefore there should be a difference inbetween sch 40 and dvw

I wouldn't use dvw, it isn't meant to be pressurized much at all.

Thank you window, because I found a lot of cans that fit perfectly in this pipe. As for cowboyfan, I said and I quote my self, "to test fit." I have enough common sense to not make a pneumatic frag grenade.
