So I've heard about boogieman or somebody coming up with a piston hybrid idea, and I was wondering what the point of the piston was. But then I was thinking that maybe the fuel is injected into one chamber, then the air pumped into another with a piston in a tee between the two chambers. Then the piston is actuated by a sprinkler valve or whatever and the air and fuel mix, and once they are mixed enough, the spark (that is constantly on in the fuel chamber) ingnites the fuel and it shoots, no need for a burst disk. Is this right?

Nope.
He just built a piston valve that would open if the pressure in the chamber increased, similar to a burst disk.
