right, i got the idea today to make an ignition for a combustion gun out of cap gun ammo. Pretty hard to describe, look at this drawing:

It is sort of like the old percussion ignition, off the old circa 1880 rifles. Anyway, look at the picture. Post your thoughts on the idea.
New ignition idea (Bet u never heard this 1 b4!)

I have had that idea before but I thought of using primer caps insted. So all you have to do is drill a hole so the primer lip stops the primer from falling in the chamber rather than making a nipple.

The primer is the thing at the end of a shot gun shell(or any shell aside from 22. cal.) that is hit by the firing pin and fires the bullet.

The more powerfull your ignition, the more likely you'll start a detonation instead of a deflaguration. Detonations aren't more powerfull, but are more likely to blow the gun up.
...this doesn't matter much for electrical ignition meathods, as anything portable won't be able to detonate a fuel-air mix.

You will have to sleave the ignition hole with metal, if you don't, the primers with destroy the hole you put them in. Pop caps mite work, if you can get the blast strong enough to ignight the fuel, good luck.
