chances are that you want a good sized check valve on you gun some day, you decide not to use a spring loaded one, but gets a cheap abs sump pump check valve made for 1 ½" coupling, because you really want to add a air inflator to vent that combustion gun.
but you soon realize that the plastic is thin and so is the rubber flap, so this is what you should do:

you might want the valve to point down, so it stays shut at what ever angle you shoot at.
also if you want it to shut faster, you can hot glue a tiny peice of plastic on to the flap where it swings
