Hey guys, Im new here, but i have a problem and you guys seem to be the pro's! I have a pneumatic spud gun with a 50cm 4inch chamber and a 2inch metre long barrel, now whenever i charge up my chamber and release the valve id say it takes a good 10seconds to empty all the air out!! is this something wrong with my valve...or is this normal?? any help or thoughts would be apreciated!

What's the valve? If 90% of the air get out for the first ms...It will work well.

I assume this is a sprinkler valve: there's a spring, so at low pressures (typicaly after the projectile has left the barrel) the valve would tend to reseal - and thus it can take some time to vent compleatly.
However, the valve will be fully open when there's high pressure in the valve, ie during launch, so it won't affect valve preformance.

is it a sprinkler valve modified for pneumatic actuation? i made the mistake of threading too deep into the cap of an orbit watermaster. it prevents the phragm from opening all the way making the valve very weak even at high pressures. i think i ended up making the hole bigger and reduced the threads down to 3/8 for the blowgun but it still didnt work out that good. I ended up blasting 150 lbs through it rapidly and the center of the phragm got torn up.

does it have flow control.if so,than turn it all the way up to the highest flow

Its ok lads, we found a solution, we just pump it up to the right pressure and take the solenoid out so the whole top chamber equalizes quicker it seems to work a lot better!..
