I have 4 feet of 4" PVC in my garage that i would like to use for a pneumatic gun but i need to get it down to a 1" sprinkler valve. What's the best and cheapest way to go about this?

prolly jsut get a reducer from 4 to as small as u can get, maybe 1 even, and then put a reducer from that down to 1, then put on ur valve, then barrel. thats how i would do it.

A sprinkler valve would create a bottleneck coming from a 4" chamber. Try making a piston gun actuated by a sprinkler valve.

try not to use sprinkler valves they restrict flow greatly

coupler - 4"/2" reducing bushing - 2"/1" reducing bushing - 1" male adapter

...or just make the chamber 2" diameter, and save yourself quite a bit of money.

He said that he already has the 4" pipe.

Shrimphead, i think BLB ment he would save a lot of money on bushings, 4in-anything isnt cheap.

Ya I know, but then he would have to also buy the 2" pipe.

Thanks SaladTosser but i don't have a lathe anymore. I'm making this with a friend but neither of us really understand how to make a piston. I've seen lots of diagrams and what not but i'm very hands on so i can't really visualize how most things work, i have to make it first. We do have a length of 2" and 1 1/2" but he bought the 4" and wants to use it.
