Full Auto?

I had an idea how to mod any pneumatic gun into a fully automatic gun. Hook your air supply up to a 3-Way solenoid, when the solenoid is off the gun charges, when it's on the gun's pilot is dumped. All you need to do is make a timer for the solenoid. Sorry if this is posted elsewhere.

it has definatly been posted before ( i can see a leigon of goons to reply to this with links)

you must realize that to make a pneumatic spudgun "full-auto" by definition, it must load and shoot while constantly holding down the trigger, this requires more than one 3 way solenoid and two seperate timer controls for the ammo loading mechanisim and the chamber charging with air. The timer circuit would have to take into consideration how fast your compressor charges the tank, and how reliable the loading mechanisim is.

so far i have not seen a true fully automatic cannon on any potato cannon website, only semi-auto cannons that require the cannon operator to manually operate the valves for loading the ammo and the trigger to fire it

Why don't you make strafer instead? The beggest problem about the full auto is that it fires a balls and they don't have a penetration=>not very destructive=>un cool.Well if it shoot very fast and have kick it will be a different story.

cause a strafer is a bbmg not a spud gun

they dont have penetration because they dont seal off the round efficently, loss of pressure around the ammo (or friction for tight ammo) is the biggest factor in the muzzle velocity of semi-auto GB/potato cannons

i know I didn't give too many details but, JEEZ YOU GUYS MADE A LOT OF ASSUMPTIONS! I obviously knew I'd have to calibrate the timer. For the loading mechanism just use Clide's bolt which uses the force of the air to push the bolt. It can't be that hard.
