Need some direction
Im about to build my first spud cannon and Im recieving an 8 gallen propane tank that has a valve that blows if the pressure exceeds 320psi, the kind you see on fork lifts. I want this to be the chamber, so does anybody have some input on how to turn this into a beast. I have access to an aluminum and steel one. they both have the same capability. Yes I have been doing my research, I just need some input thanks.

The problem with those propane tanks is that the porting is rather small... I geuss I'll ask if you have the capability to weld a steel pipe nipple onto it.
If you do, you might weld a 2" steel pipe nipple onto it, and then use some sort of high-flow valve (actuated 2" ball valve, for instance) to feed a large diameter (3" sch 80 might be nice) barrel.
If you don't... ignore the tank for the time being, because you won't get any worthwhile flow through the stock opening.
Maybe you could use it as a portable air storage tank?
