I am using a 1" orbit solenoid controlled sprinkler valve. It is the kind where it turns around, not the straight-through.

Originally, my compression tank was only 2" ID x 3'. With a 2" ID x 4.5' barrel compressed to 60 psi, the potato hardly goes anywhere soo to fix it...

I am going to saw off the 2" chamber, add a reducer and use a 4" ID x 2' chamber. I am also going to make the barrel 1.5" instead of 2", and only 4' long.

Should this shoot a potato pretty good if pressured to 100 psi?

NOTE: Also, in between the chamber and sprinkler valve, there is about a 6" section of 1" pipe so I could put in a pressure gauge into a small T fitting. Will this bottleneck seriously affect performance?

The Anti-Siphon valves reduce flow a tiny bit, but not enough to hinder performance. Are you using a modified valve? If not, you may want to look into pneumatic activation, check the wiki.

I don't see why it didn't work with your original setup, must have been something wrong.

Your new gun should work, sounds like it will work, just make sure you use all PW fittings.

The 1" pipe isn't the bottleneck, the valve is, so I see no affection of performance.
