I am waiting for the rest of the parts for my pneumatic to come in and i'm at a loss for what to make next. my current project is my 800psi hpa gun, anything you guys would suggest as fun and or a good bit of effort to build? I may be new here but i'm no slouch when it come to tinkering lol.

maybe not something quite so big lol. I don't own a truck I can lug something like that around in, but it would be fun lol.

what is the budget for this gun? do you want a fun plinker or a cannon to make 2 inch holes in 1/4inch steel?

Well, Mike, that makes three of the five sentences you've posted in this thread end in "lol". That might be a mite excessive.
As for a suggestion, try the opposite - small is a challenge in it's own right, so you could try building something pocket sized. If you can pack lots of features into a miniature package, it's actually a good showcase of skill.

Super high speed marshmallows are fun. I use them to open cans of root beer. The bad news is it tends to spill quite a bit.

budget is not really an issue, I have several hundred dollars a month to blow on fun, and I can always save up if needed. my current project in process is 1/2 inch barrel, I like the more rifle styled cannons though I do plan in making an over under combustion soon I like them. the mini suggestion I like, have't tried one of those yet.

heres a challenge. Make a hybrid that doesn't need burst discs. Also have it self contained so you don't need to hang around an air compressor all day nor do you need a pump. This way you can actually take it with you places. Also make it easy to refuel by not having left over chamber pressure after each shot and make it so you don't have to flush or vent the chamber every time either. Oh, breech loading of course. And lastly, make it from off the shelf or readily available materials that won't require any lathes or mills or anything like that. Drill press and saws etc is of course OK.

You must be a mind reader.. It's one of the things I have been brainstorming.

Well said. How about an automatic? There's quite a few designs on the forum that would make a feasible build, or you could take an existing design and scale it up, how about a vortex design scaled up for marbles with a ball valve trigger and 800 psi supply?

Any ideas so far?

Yes.. Part of it is in some past threads on propane AND air metering for a purgeless chamber replenishment, a chamber with the piston, and the breech loader. For the burstless hybrid a mod of a spool valve that would pop on a sudden pressure rise would be used. How to combine them is still unsolved, but a few ideas are kicking around.

What about using mapp gas and o2. Slightly more o2 could be injected each shot to compensate for the lack of oxygen. Think it would work?

Right, you asked that question right when my mind was just so, and I think I've got some ideas.
If you're allowed an air tank, it's easy, I've got about eight designs to do it like that.
But seeing as you're asking for no dependence on an air supply, it's a heck of a lot trickier, but I've been thinking for the last hour, and I can think of two ways to do a hybrid which will work off a propane tank alone.
The first is limited to working at only about 2x, but it's much more elegant than the second - which needs a lot more parts, but if done well might make 10x. That's about the upper limits you could extract from it without any air supply to purge or pressurize the chamber, but it's nothing to be sneezed at.
Doing them with just a drill press would be little hard, but I think it's possible.
EDIT: Oh, wait, you're not writing off dependence on any air supply, just a pump or compressor.
Ignore me then, I'm tired and misreading things.
